Little kids waiting in line:
‘Mommy I wanna be the first one to go in’
Me:
‘I’ve waited 11 god damn years for this, I will be going in first’
I’m sorry, I’ve got to reblog this. This reminds me of about six months ago I took my niece and nephews to see the circus. This was my reaction when I saw the elephant ride. I slammed those little kids aside so fast...

It’s colder to the touch And sharper than a thousand blades It cuts into me, Deep, drawing my breath
No way back, just stagnation or the unknown plunge The world in front of me leaves me blind Is it dark because it’s dark and empty Or are things so bright they drown my eyes?
It’s going to be a…

nslayton replied to your link: Santorum: Democratic Party An Orgy Of Sex And Homosexuality Preying On Lust
I’m a Democrat and I have yet to be a part of an orgy. Clearly I’m failing at it.
You need to go to the meetings. They’re where everyone worships satan, engages in homosexual orgies, and then runs straight to Planned Parenthood where everyone, even the men, has abortions.
I don’t...

I just had my last college advisement
It’s very weird. After this current semester, I’ll have just one left. I’m almost done with college, and I’ll be honest, I’m really unsettled by this. Not unsettled as in frightened, just thrown for a loop. As a kid growing up, everything was always about college, getting the grades for it, getting into a good school, and variations on that. I’ll probably go...

Tribune's LA Times launches paywall disguised as... →
producermatthew:
You know, a “membership program,” like what you might enroll in at Costco: The cost of the Los Angeles Times’ paywall will translate to $1.99 for news consumers with a print subscription or $3.99 for readers without a print subscription, meaning digital-only access will cost around $16 for people who live outside of the LA Times’ print delivery footprint.
The LA Times will...

Journalists Marie Colvin and Remi Ochlik are dead. They are dead because the Syrian government, by all appearances, is intentionally targeting journalists and foreign observers. The Syrian government was able to target individuals—to monitor satellite uplinks, phone records, and internet…

This is the worst war we’ve ever seen. And they’re getting away with it.
– The late journalist Marie Colvin, as written in a personal obituary penned by Channel 4’s Lindsey Hilsum. Colvin, a reporter for the Sunday Times, was one of two western journalists killed after the shelling of a neighborhood in Homs, Syria on Wednesday. [Channel 4] (via producermatthew)

Current writing projects
So, like I said, I’m working on writing again. And I just thought I’d share with you guys what it is that I’m working on, and maybe for the half a fan out there that I have, get people excited.
My short story/novella. It’s a psychological, Gothic horror story. Essentially, six people go to a remote manor to inspect it for renovation and are forced to face their pasts...

Tweeting a War: How One Journalist Is Using... →
Kazemi’s coverage provides a window into Afghanistan from a native writer’s eyes that simply can’t be matched by foreign writers. He manages this all while building an online following and readership the way any web-savvy journalist would: through interaction and engagement. He’s got just less than 3,000 followers, but that number’s going up every day. Kazemi makes it a point to respond to his...

Re-Wired (Kasabian)
Monday rocking. Great gym music, and one of the most rocking songs about love that I’ve ever heard.
I spent the day up in the north side of the valley, helping two friends that I jokingly call myself the sidekick of film a short movie. It was a complete blast and I got to meet some amazing people. I even ended up being a body double for the lead due to a similar build. I think I was the “Fake Shemp” as it were. But it really was great. Matt and Rudy had a great script to work off of...

Today I got a huge amount of work done, got some much needed sleep, had an amazing workout, and listened to great music. And tomorrow I’m crewing a film shoot (a totally new experience for me, but I’m excited). Life is good, and I’m looking forward to what tomorrow brings.
Here’s the thing. I call myself a writer, but I do little in the way of writing. I promise I will change that in the next month.
